Bio
Tamara Burlando is a multidisciplinary visual artist.
Her work embraces multicultural integration, creating nets and relationships that support co-existence, mutual learning, and respectful exchanges.
Her works oscillate from photographs printed in delicate tea bag patchworks, wool installations within the trees' branches, and multiple coloured stitched soft sculptures to create a conversation between 2 cultures, collaborations with other women artists, and the performance of her intuitive ceremonies of identity and belonging.
Tamara explores art as a tool of discovery and healing, a path to reconnect with the land and remember untold stories. Also as a quest for ancient knowledge.
Tamara was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Abya Yala from a mix-heritage (Uruguayan, Huarpe, European).
She has a specialization in Sculpture (Massana School of Applied Arts, Barcelona, Spain) & Photography (IEFC, Barcelona, Spain), and she is currently undertaking a Post-grad Certificate in Creative Therapies with Indigenous perspectives, at Darwin University, Australia.
